[Column] About SLM (Selective Laser Melting) Method

Introducing the molding method adopted by ZRapid, for which we serve as the general agent!

Introducing SLM, which uses a laser as a heat source in the powder bed method, a mainstream technology in metal 3D printing. The powder bed method (PBF) involves irradiating a layer of metal powder with a beam of light, causing it to sinter through the generated heat. By repeatedly melting and solidifying layer by layer, it enables additive manufacturing. There are various manufacturing methods, but this one has a long history and is widely used. The powder bed method is divided into "Selective Laser Melting (SLM)" and "Electron Beam Melting (EBM)" based on the type of heat source used. *For more detailed information, please refer to the related links. Metal 3D Printing by Togane Metal Industry Realizing Complex Shapes

Realizing free modeling through metal additive manufacturing! Proposing lightweight and high functionality.

The "Metal 3D Printing" proposed by Toh Metal Industry enables weight reduction and high rigidity without changing the material, thanks to topology optimization technology. Through additive manufacturing using metal 3D printers, we achieve complex shapes that were impossible with traditional methods such as machining, enhancing the functionality of parts. From the design consideration stage of incorporating 3D printing methods, we will propose ways to realize the high functionality of parts. 【Features】 ■ Weight reduction through topology optimization technology - Lightweight and high rigidity without changing the material ■ Creation of complex shapes - Achieving complex shapes that were impossible with traditional methods such as machining ■ Internal piping (heat & cool mechanism) structure - Realizing free piping within the structure ■ We are also actively working on accommodating new materials. *For more details, please refer to the catalog or feel free to contact us.
